Enforcement

When the court issues an order, the law expects that the conditions of the order will be followed. You have the right to receive the benefits contained in all official actions and court orders.

If your ex-spouse does not comply with the conditions of your divorce and you do not receive your court-ordered benefits, you have the right to enforcement of the judgment. Within limits, you may also modify the terms of the original divorce decree with respect to child custody, visitation, and support. However, you do not have the right to modify terms regarding division of property. If the original decree is vague, ambiguous, or otherwise subject to multiple interpretations, you have the right to request that the court clarify the terms.

The attorneys at Marshall Law PC have filed many successful lawsuits on behalf of our clients for enforcement, modification, and clarification of the terms and conditions of divorce decrees.
